~ Chris Cornell to sing Bond title track ~

Yes, it's for real.. Chris Cornell, frontman for mega-rock group "Audioslave", and former grunge meisters "Soundgarden", will record the title track for the new Bond movie, "Casino Royale".

Cornell can now add his name to a long list of powerful acts that have previously recorded for Bond title tracks, including Matt Monroe, Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones and Tina Turner.

The movie, due for release by Sony Pictures this November 2006, will feature the powerful vocal talent of Chris Cornell. Working together with Bond soundtrack composer David Arnold, Chris Cornell has co-written the soundtrack title music, "You Know My Name". Chris Cornell sings Bond

Former title track hoaxes included "Goldfrapp", found and reported by a French newspaper from a hoax Bond movie poster, created by a Bond fan that had been posted on the internet. Apparently this was good enough to fool the French paper into printing the news. Whilst Alison Goldfrapp would not be an alltogether bad choice for the title track either, sadly the band will not be recording it this time round. Perhaps next time?

This is Bond film number twenty one, and tipped to be the best Bond yet, (..as always). The new film, a sort of "Bond Begins", features newly signed Bond actor, Daniel Craig, and travels back to Ian Fleming's first Bond novel, "Casino Royale". The movie will premiere in London on November 14th 2006, three days ahead of general release across the UK and US.
